Project Overview:
In "October Skies" we had to build rockets that could reach it's maximum altitude. We started off by making small paper helicopters and figuring out ways to improve it. Then we started to make small rockets and launch them with straws, then figuring out how we could improve those. The project officially started when we began to make larger paper rockets in pairs and made them based on what we knew about the straw rockets, but this time we had to protect an egg. After the paper rockets we got into new teams and had a choice of building paper rockets again or building bottle rockets, but we had to reach a certain altitude while protecting the egg. After this we took our knowledge of our previous launch and incorporated them into the final part of the project. We got into new teams and this time, we had a budget. Each team member had a specific job, Project Manager, Budget Director, and Design and Launch Director. We had a week to build a new rocket, but we had to "buy" our materials with pretend money so we had to budget our materials for our rocket.

Project Reflection:
When we started with the straw rockets I really was not excited for this project, because it seemed boring to me. But as we started to work with the larger paper rockets and using the launcher it started to become really exciting. I really enjoyed working and collaborating with new team members and using their ideas to make our rocket better. My favorite part of the entire project was the final where we had to budget and meet deadlines for our rocket. I also enjoyed exhibition and trying to "sell" our rocket. Overall, I really enjoyed doing this project and launching what crazy rocket I had made.
