Independent study
In Math I decided to enroll myself in a personalized course, instead of the normal course that is taught at HTHI. I wanted to do this because I never learned geometry or trigonometry in high school, so I made a Khan Academy account and went to work.
I took notes and worked on problems. That was pretty much all I did, and that's not bad. It was cool, I was learning new things and it was exciting. My notes were color coordinated and the problems were challenging. I was very happy to have the opportunity to learn on my own.

Reflections
There were a good number of times where I felt confused, but I usually worked out the problems on my own. I would re-watch the videos, or use the internet to answer my questions. This one time I was learning about the laws of Sin, and I wasn't quite sure what to do, so I looked it up online. I found a website that explained it a lot more clearly than Khan Academy did. That's how I usually figured out the math I didn't initially understand. I understand that I was on a different course than everyone in my class, but I wish I had more personalized help. The math I was doing seemed to be very different than what the teachers at my school taught. There were times where I asked several teachers for help on one problem, and none of them could successfully help me solve it. I also wish I had the chance to design my own project based off what I had been learning, instead of being subjected to do the project my classmates were doing. And because of that I felt disconnected to the project and I didn't have much pride in it.
I'm sure that I'll teach math if I decide to become a teacher. It's not out of reach, it's definitely possible.
